Questions To Be Asked While Choosing A Residential Cleaning Company

Whether you are a large company or a small house or a one-man business; professional cleaning is something you must never ignore. Houses with small children and absence of a clean environment could be the worst hygienic condition. A dirty work area is bad for health of adults as well as children. So here is the solution, you need to hire company which professionally cleans your house and premises. But which company to chose and which not to be chosen? How should one be deciding? Well okay, we have here prepared an exhaustive list of questions which you need to ask before you hire one!

How long they had been in business?

It takes little more than a mop and bucket to start a cleaning business, but it takes far more to run a professional and sustainable company. Generally the longer a company has been in business the more likely they are to be around in the future.

Do they pre-screen their employees?

Does the company check references of the employees? Or do they perform criminal background checks? Are the employees independent cleaning persons? Are they providing a copy of their own background check at their expense?

Can they provide a written checklist of tasks they would be performing?

Different companies have different ideas of what a basic service consists of. You must know exactly what you are paying for by truly comparing apples to apple while making a decision. Some of the areas of confusion are dishes, making of beds, laundry, and high dusting of ceiling fan blades, high reach window sills, handling of children’s toys, and the handling of the trash of the home. You can avoid a potential grief by getting written specifications of what you would be getting.

Do they have a quality assurance program in place?

What parameters does the company employ to measure quality on an ongoing basis? Do they perform regular quality checks, surveys, comment-feedbacks, or do they follow up phone calls? If so how regularly? Do they have a person in-charge of quality assurance?

What happens if you are not happy with the cleaning?

Some residential cleaning services only offer a specified percent off your next service if you are not happy. If you are not satisfied and they don’t fix it up, why would you give them one more chance? A reputed service provider would be coming back immediately and do whatever is required to fix the problem.

Who provides the equipment?

You must know well in advance, that if it would be you or the cleaning company who would be providing their supplies and equipments for cleaning. Their employees are less likely to ill-use the products they are trained to use. Also, if you would be providing supplies for your cleaner then it could easily add hundreds of dollars a year to your cleaning bill due to the high product used in a thorough cleaning.
